Supporting New Zealand's Olive Industry with Olives New Zealand

Olives New Zealand is the industry organisation representing New Zealand's olive growers and producers. Its work focuses on supporting growers with knowledge, education and industry resources, while promoting the quality of New Zealand-produced extra virgin olive oil (EVOO).

Celebrating New Zealand EVOO

One of the highlights on the Olives NZ calendar is the annual New Zealand Extra Virgin Olive Oil Awards, which recognise quality and excellence across the local olive oil industry.

The 2026 awards are being held in Masterton on Saturday 3 October, following a day of field activities, presentations and workshops. The awards bring growers, producers and industry partners together to celebrate the skill and dedication behind New Zealand EVOO.

A Day in the Grove

The weekend kicks off on Saturday morning with the Leafyridge Field Day, providing an opportunity for growers and industry members to get out into the grove and share practical knowledge.

The field day will be held at:

244 Dakins Rd, RD7 Masterton
Saturday 3 October, 9.30am–12.30pm

The morning will focus on bird control, harvesting and processing, and managing regrowth, followed by lunch.

The programme then continues at Copthorne Solway Park with presentations and workshops covering topics including drone use in olive groves, olive nutrition, pest and disease control, market surveillance and an industry update, followed by an oil tasting.

Supporting the Industry from Grove to Bottle

For Plasdene Glass-Pak, our connection with the olive oil industry reflects our focus on providing packaging solutions that help producers present and protect their products from grove to bottle.

Packaging plays an important role in the presentation of premium EVOO, helping producers create a finished product that reflects the quality and care that goes into its production.
